EARLY CHILDHOOD CLASSES

Rhythm Street Rollers (2 years and under)
Rhythm Street Shakers (2-5 years)
Music + Movement (0-5 years)

Music education in early childhood provides your child with many benefits including, but not limited to, boosting cognitive development, language skills, increased wellbeing, and improved social and emotional skills. In our classes, we do not merely entertain your child but will work with you to learn songs that you can play with your child to reap the benefits of learning music while increasing your own wellbeing and bond with your child. Our programs are carefully designed in a sequence to gently develop the child's and carer's skills and abilities to be able to enjoy and share a love of music in their everyday life.

While our programs have suggested age ranges, we are not bound to these. We understand that many families have multiple children under five and will accept children of any age into any of our programs.  However, please note that these classes are specifically designed to suit the developmental stages as described. Each of these sessions are 30 minutes long with an optional 15 minutes each side to meet, greet and socialise with other parents and their bubs.

RHYTHM STREET SHAKERS

For 2 to 5 year olds and their adults

Prepare to have some fun and get busy singing, dancing and playing musical games along with your child while developing their musical, language, cognitive, social and emotional skills.

Capped at just 8 children, our classes for 2 - 5 year olds, we will continue to develop the skills that are learned in Rhythm Street Rollers as well as introduce songs and games that encourage the skill development of counting, dancing, imagination, confidence, listening, language and social and emotional skills. Our songs will expand to include a focus on tempo and dynamics as well as rhythm and pitch.

These classes are designed to be enjoyed as a term long sequential learning sequence, where we will build on previously learned songs and skills over the term. Additionally, this allows carers and children to become familiarised with one another and our surroundings with the aim of developing relationships, confidence and social development.

Capped at just 8 children, we will explore songs that encourage movement, recognition of language, and for those who are ready, simple melodies to sing along. Additionally, we will explore different percussive instruments, the sounds they make and how they can be played.

For parents and carers, we will learn some lullabies from around the world to build into your daily routine to calm and settle your little one.

FOR THE GROWN UPS

Becoming a parent is so incredibly rewarding and life changing. Yet it can also be socially isolating.

Beginning with a singing group, I aim to develop various music programs over time that are family friendly. Throughout history and cultures all over the world, music has been enjoyed as a community or tribal experience. Yet it seems that this is becoming lost. I aim to provide non-formal music making classes that gently develop your skills while we all support one another musically and as parents or carers.  Participating in musical activities has many great benefits. Come along and try a session to see for yourself.

FUTURE PLANS

While we are starting small, we have big dreams. We hope to provide more group workshops for families in time. We dream of drum circles, ukulele lessons, group instrumental jam sessions, and anything that will give you the confidence to participate in music making with others even if you have a little one in toe.

We also offer evening classes for beginner guitar and ukulele workshops. You are most welcome to bring children along to these sessions.
